Checklist for Senior Bookplate Project

1.  Each semester, begin the Bookplate Project 2 months before graduation (e.g., begin in mid-March for the Spring semester).

2.  Email the supervisor letter and the attached bookplate form to the USM libs listserv.

3.  If the form is sent to you without the book, find the book in the stacks and bring it to Preservation.

4.  With the form and book in hand, make the senior bookplate with the correct name of the student and the correct month and year of graduation in place.

5.  Glue the bookplate into the book, placing wax paper on top before pressing it with a bone folder.

6.  Once pressed down, place a new piece of wax paper on top of the bookplate.

7.  Place the book on the drying shelf with its spine hanging off of the edge of the shelf and a weight placed on top of the book directly on top of the bookplate.

8.  Keep the form with the book until it has dried.

9.  Once the bookplate is dry, place the form in the bookplate file and return the book to its proper place in the stacks.

10.  McCain Library books are not eligible for bookplates.
