Processing Circulation Books

1.  Put finished books onto a truck.

2.  Open WorkFlows and the Label Program.

3.  Look through the book, make sure everything has been done and it is absolutely ready to check into Circulation.

4.  Scan the old barcode on the card into WorkFlows and bring up the record.

5.  Check the location field to see if the call number will have a prefix.

6.  Copy the call number and paste it into the Label Program.

7.  Affix a new item ID barcode onto the book and the small i-mark label inside the book on the verso of the title page. Cover the barcode with a barcode protector.

8.  Scan the new barcode into the record.

9.  Repeat the process for each book.

10. Print out all of the call number labels.

11. Go back to the first book and scan it back into WorkFlows. This will give you a last opportunity to make sure that everything is correct in the record.

12. Check the call number and match it with the correct call number on the sheet before placing the new call number sticker onto the book.

13. Cover the call number sticker with a label protector.

14. RECORD STATISTICS!!

15. Put Preservation Unit labels in desired books.

16. Put date due slips into the books.

17. Once books are completely processed, take truck down to Circulation and have them generate a list of books checked in.

18. Put date on list and file in 3-ring binder.
