Plastic and Cambric Binding

(Use for music scores over 1 signature)

1. Remove cover from the text block.

2. Clean any glue or paper from the text block spine to make it smooth.

3. Tip-in any loose pages and perform any other needed repairs to the text block and cover.

4. Glue cambric onto the full length of the spine with the fuzzy size to the spine. Allow at least 1” of width of cambric on both the front and back, making sure not to glue the front and back cambric to the pages of the text block.

5. Trim the front and back covers so that they fall about ½” to ¾” from the spine.

6. Place the covers all the way to the fore edge of the text block and make pencil marks on the cambric at the edges of the covers.

7. Using scrap paper, apply glue to the cambric and glue the covers onto the cambric.

8. Place sheets of wax paper between the covers and the front and back pages and weigh down overnight.

9. Apply hard plastic covers to the item.
