Berta and Elmer Hader: A Retrospective

A sitting grey Tabby cat wearing a large pink ribbon tied in a bow around its neck.

Award-winning author/illustrators Berta and Elmer Hader were the first to respond to Dr. Lena Y. de Grummond's invitation to become a part of the Children's Literature Collection in 1966. Since that first donation, the de Grummond Collection has grown to include the original works of over 1,300 authors and illustrators. Now on display in the de Grummond Exhibit Room on the second floor of Cook Library are items from the Collection's Berta and Elmer Hader Papers, and from the private collection of the Haders' niece, Joy Hoerner Rich.

The exhibit will be available until March 2012:

    Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
    Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
    Sunday, 12 p.m.-9 p.m.
