Mississippiana Vertical File

The Mississippiana/Special Collections unit of The University of Southern Mississippi Libraries maintains a vertical file of newspaper and magazine clippings, pamphlets, flyers, and other informational items that relate to the state's history, culture, and government. The Mississippiana Vertical Files also cover significant current events and notable Mississippians. Together, a subject guide and a personal name guide serve as the index of the topics upon which vertical file information is collected.

Files are kept in the closed stacks area of McCain Library. Access to these materials are provided through the Cleanth Brooks Reading Room in room 305, where patrons may request items from the reference desk personnel. All materials must remain in the reading room.
