RefWorks at University Libraries

RefWorks (Login) is a Web-based bibliographic management tool that allows users to import, store, and manage references, as well as generate bibliographies and reference lists. Individual users can store their reference database online, allowing them to use and update it from anywhere. Optionally, users may share data with other subscribers.

It is possible to conduct searches from within RefWorks, however, RefWorks advises that users "will always get better search results by searching directly in the catalog or data source." Most of the databases available from University Libraries allow search results to be exported directly to RefWorks. Visit RefWorks own Web site for the most complete list of vendors that provide direct export to RefWorks. RefWorks also maintains a Web page with instructions for exporting from specific databases into RefWorks.
