Services for Alumni
Current members of The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association are eligible for circulation and interlibrary loan services at University Libraries. Circulation and borrowing information can be found in the University Libraries Circulation Policy.
Off-campus (remote) access to electronic resources, such as e-books, e-journals, and article databases, is restricted to currently enrolled students and currently employed faculty and staff. Alumni may access these resources using computers located within any of the University Libraries.
Membership in the Southern Miss Alumni Association is open to the general public. Visit the Alumni Association Web site at www.southernmissalumni.com/ to apply. Members of the Alumni Association must register at the circulation desk of Cook Library or Gulf Coast Library before using library services.
Circulation - information about service eligibility, loan periods, renewals, overdue fines, lost or damaged items, and related information
Interlibrary Loan - use the ILLiad system to request delivery of articles and loans of books and other materials from other libraries
Ask-a-Librarian - receive information and research assistance via e-mail or chat
Find available computers in Cook Library or Gulf Coast Library - available computers are indicated by a green computer icon.
Technical and Collection Development Services
Technical Services Department - the acquisitions, cataloging, and serials units are where much of the "behind-the-scenes" work occurs
Catalog Error Report - report a problem with a record in the library catalog
Order Inquiry - ask about a book, journal, or other resource listed in the library catalog as on order or in process
Suggest a Purchase - recommend purchase of a book, video, journal, or other item
Faxing and Scanning - send a fax or have pages scanned and sent to an e-mail address
Library Forms - link to all University Libraries forms from one convenient location
