Tags divided by hundreds (continued)

The notation XX is used to refer to a group of related tags. For example, 1XX refers to all the tags in the 100s: 100, 110, 130, and so on.


100 Main entry -- personal name
110 Main entry -- corporate name
111 Main entry -- meeting name
130 Main entry -- uniform title

2XX refers to all the tags in the 200s. This group of tags contains the title of the item described in the bibliographic record and all of the variant titles that also apply to the item.

242 Translation of title by cataloging agency
243 Collective uniform title
245 Title statement
246 Varying form of title
