Who is Will D. Campbell?
A preacher...

Providence Farm
Holmes County, MS

Campbell served as the Director for Religious Life at the University of Mississippi from 1954-1956. Will hoped to enjoy a broader range of freedom in academia than he was afforded within the church. He discovered an equal amount of pressure to conform along with the same propensity for institutional self-preservation.

Will participated in a variety of controversial events and activities related to racial justice and human rights which led to his departure from Ole Miss after only two and a half years.
One such conflict arose from Will's relationship with a local group of missionaries who provided medical attention to the community's poorest population without concern for skin color.
