Biographical Sketch
Paula Winter was born on October 26, 1929 in New York, New York. She married
Harold Berson, also an illustrator, in 1958. She has had her artwork displayed at the
Eggelston Gallery and the Leonard Hutton Gallery. She has also worked as a fashion
illustrator. Her most well known book is The Bear and the Fly (1976), a
wordless picture book, which was named an American Library Association Notable
Book, one of New York Times Best Illustrated Books of the Year, and Best
Children's Book of the Season by Saturday Review.
