Abstract: The Sari Papers contain ink illustrations created by Anne Elizabeth Fleur between 1951 and 1952. Fleur illustrated children's books under both her real name and the pseudonym, Sari. Her papers were created from her illustration of two published books written by Christine Noble Govan.

Biographical Note

Anne Elizabeth Fleur was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1901. She attended St. Joseph's School in Lancaster and Lancaster Business School. She initially studied art privately at home, but later moved to New York City to attend the Art Students League. Fleur spent several years in advertising before discovering an interest in drawing children, which led her to begin writing and illustrating children's books. She has worked under both her real name and the pseudonym, Sari.

The Sari Papers contain ink illustrations created by Anne Elizabeth Fleur between 1951 and 1952. Fleur's papers were created from her illustration of two published books written by Christine Noble Govan.
