The de
Grummond Collection is indebted to a number of publishers
of children's books who give us review copies of books throughout
the year, in addition to the Holiday Book Fair contributions.
Our contemporary collection would not be nearly as extensive
as it is without their generous support. We would like to
thank Candlewick, Crabtree, DK Publishing, Little Brown, and
Scholastic for their generosity and support.
November
1997 saw another successful Holiday Book Fair. Each year since
1986 we have hosted a browsing book fair where those interested
in children's literature can see the latest that publishers
have to offer. The purpose of the fair is to encourage people
to give books as gifts during the holiday season. It is also
an opportunity to share the output of many smaller, independent
publishers. We would like to thank the 83 publishers who contributed
a total of 700 books this year. The names of these publishers
appear in the "Contributions" section.
