Form of Material:

A twenty-two page memoir written by Reba Pickering Rogers, a native of Covington County, Mississippi, at the request of her grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers was born in about 1917, and the document describes her experiences growing up on the family farm, and changes that occurred over several decades. Mrs. Rogers also includes information about the Ernest and Pearl Knight Family.

An interesting anecdote in the memoir tells about an outhouse built on the Pickering farm with WPA assistance. The facility was nicknamed "The Elinor", in honor of Eleanor Roosevelt, who was instrumental in securing funds for rural improvements.
