One DVD film made from the original 16mm film commemorating the 50th anniversary of Perkinston Junior College, Perkinston, Mississippi. The school opened on September 17, 1912, as the Harrison County Agricultural High School. By 1925 it was known as Harrison-Stone-Jackson Agricultural High School and Junior College, and in 1942 it became Perkinston Junior College. In 1987 its name was changed to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Made in 1962, the film is titled “The Catalyst.” It is a documentary lauding the school’s assets and its impact on the four county area it primarily serves, as well as the entire state. The film is 18 minutes and 24 seconds in length. Indoor scenes are somewhat dark, but overall, the film is in good condition.
