Form of Material:

  1. Thirty-eight logging railroad maps drawn by Mr. Tony Howe. The maps portray railroad operations, timber holdings and other aspects of lumber companies that proliferated in South Mississippi during the latter years of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Drawn on 8.5" x 11" paper, the maps are color-coded, and a map key is included.
  2. Two railroad maps for Forrest and Lamar Counties in southeast Mississippi.
  3. Layout drawings of the John Kamper Sawmill (Hattiesburg, MS, 1895); Hattiesburg Sawmill Company (1925); and Brookhaven Lumber & Manufacturing Company (Hattiesburg, MS, 1915).
