Waldrup Given By: Mrs. Lonette Cliburn Copyright: This collection may be protected from unauthorized copying by the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code). Form of Material: Letters written by members of the Henry, Rowell, and Waldrup families of Jasper County, Mississippi, during the first two decades of the twentieth century. The bulk of the collection consists of letters written by Pvt. John Henry, Jr., to his sister Cora Henry, during World War I. A second series of letters were written to Cora Henry by her aunt, Bonnie Rowell, and from Bonnie Rowell to Cora Henry. A third series of letters were written by Mattie and J. G. Waldrup to various family members. An additional letter to Cora Henry was written by "H. J", with an enclosure addressed to "Aunt Cora" and signed "Kirby." The final item in the collection is a photograph of Cora Henry, apparently taken while she was a student at Mississippi Normal College (now The University of Southern Mississippi). One folder containing a subpoena from the Chancery Court of Jasper County, Mississippi, summoning witnesses to appear on behalf of J. G. Waldrup in the matter of a Writ of Lunacy (Jan. 16, 1915).
