Items used by former Forrest County Prosecutor James K. Dukes in the USM University Forum presentation on August 29, 2000. In 1968, Mr. Dukes obtained the first conviction of a white murderer of an African American in Mississippi, in the Vernon Dahmer case.

1. Copy of an affidavit of Cecil V. Sessums regarding the January 10, 1966 murder of Hattiesburg civil rights leader Vernon Dahmer.
2. Copies of the Ku Klux Klan sheet The Forrest Crusader of March 1 and April 4, 1966, in which the Dahmer murdered is discussed.
3. A document entitled "The Watchful Eye," in which it is suggested that the F.B.I. may have been responsible for Dahmer's death.
