At the time of the gift, the Hon. Frank D. Barber was Secretary of the Mississippi Senate. The collection includes:

1. Materials relating to conferring university status on Mississippi Southern College in 1962, at which time its name was changed to the University of
   Southern Mississippi.
2. Scrapbook of Barber's campaign for the State Senate, 1959.
3. Six volumes of the MSC humor magazine Southern Exposure from
   1952, when Barber, a student, was Business Manager and Advertising Manager.
