How do I find books outside the University Libraries?
Use the OCLC WorldCat database to find books and other materials not owned by any University of Southern Mississippi Library. WorldCat is a shared library catalog for over 9,000 OCLC-member libraries located throughout the United States and the world. If a book or other item has been cataloged by any of the participating libraries, it will be included in WorldCat.
If you find a book in WorldCat that you'd like to use, contact the University Libraries' Interlibrary Loan Service. This service is available to current Southern Miss students, faculty, staff, Alumni Association members, and Friends of the Library members. The staff in Interlibrary Loan will check to see if the book you are seeking may be borrowed from one of the libraries that has a copy.
Books in Print is a reference resource that provides bibliographic information about books, audio books, and videos that are in-print, out-of-print, and forthcoming.
Amazon.com is another source of information about books and other published materials, both in and out of print.
