Friends of the Library
The Friends welcomes private financial support for the University Libraries. Such support for the Libraries is tax deductable and benefits all Southern Miss students and researchers in their academic pursuits.
There are many ways to support the Libraries such as:
One of the most popular gifts that academic libraries enjoy is an endowment. Since endowments provide a flow of income each year, librarians can count on the money being available for the purchase of new materials, new technology or upgrades to study space. Endowments can be given in one lump sum, completed in installments, or made as part of a planned gift, such as a life insurance policy.
Planned Giving is the process of making a charitable gift for deferred use. Common types of planned gifts include wills and bequests, life insurance, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, life estates, and revocable trusts.
Gifts in Kind
The Libraries welcome gifts of original materials, books, personal libraries, reports, maps, and other items that fall within the scope of our collecting activities.
