Government Documents

Government Documents, located on the second floor of Cook Library in the Reading Room, contains selected federal publications distributed by the Government Printing Office (GPO). USM Libraries is one of 11 Federal Depository Libraries located throughout the state of Mississippi. As a Selective Depository, the library receives roughly half of the government publications distributed by the GPO. Some of these publications are distributed in microform.

To find government documents owned by University Libraries, use the Anna library catalog. In Anna, click on Advanced Search and scroll to the drop-down menu for "type." Select Government documents. Then type keywords in the "WORDS anywhere" search box and click the Search button.

Government documents are shelved using the SuDoc "Superintendent of Documents" Classification System (info from MSState about SuDocs).
