APA, MLA, Chicago and Turabian Style Workshops

Fall 2016

University Libraries is offering workshops to introduce you to and assist with important aspects of using APA, Chicago, MLA and Turabian styles to write and format research papers. Drop-in for any of these workshops from October 12 though November 14 in Cook Library.

APA Style

Participants will learn about the basics of APA style including how to format in-text and full citations, how to cite less traditional sources, and tips for efficient citation management. Join Elena Azadbakht, Health and Nursing Librarian, for an overview.

The workshop will be offered twice this fall:

Wednesday, October 12, 2016, noon-1 p.m. in Cook Library Room 110 (LIB 110)
Monday, November 14, 2016, 3-4 p.m. in Cook Library Room 123 (LIB 123)

Chicago Style

Participants will learn about key aspects of Chicago style for academic writing assignments and how to get help with specific questions. Time will be allowed for hands-on practice using sample texts.

MLA Style

Participants will learn about key aspects of the Modern Language Association (MLA) style for academic writing assignments and how to get help with specific questions. Time will be allowed for hands-on practice using sample texts.

Turabian Style

Participants will learn about key aspects of Turabian style, detailed in Kate L. Turabian's Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses and Dissertations, for academic writing assignments and get help with specific questions. Time will be allowed for hands-on practice using sample texts.
