As an author or researcher it is important to be recognized for the great work you do. Is your research confused with others who have a name similar to yours? Do you have problems distinguishing between authors with similar names? The best solution is to develop an online profile as a researcher to promote your work and connect your scholarly contributions.

Participants will learn what scholarly identification systems such as ORCID and ResearcherID can do for them. ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier) is an open, non-profit, community-driven effort to create and maintain a registry of unique researcher identifiers. They provide a transparent method of linking these identifiers to research activities and outputs by embedding ORCID identifiers in key workflows such as manuscript submissions, grant applications, researcher profiles, and patent applications. ResearcherID is a proprietary system of Thomson Reuters and limited to Web of Science users.
