For the month of August, the Gulf Coast Library is featuring information on hurricanes. The Hurricane Collection, located on the second floor of the library, is composed of books and DVDs related to hurricane events.

These materials, initially part of the Katrina Research Center, include books about hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, as well other more recent storms. The exhibit also includes publications about the Galveston, TX hurricane of 1900, the 1938 hurricane along New England’s Coast, and the deadly storm during the American Revolution.

Copies of inspirational books, children’s books, cookbooks, and novels inspired by these natural disasters along with hurricane preparedness handouts are also on display.
