Southern Miss Gulf Coast Library to Host Free African American Genealogy Workshop

The Southern Miss Gulf Coast Library, in conjunction with the Historical Society of Gulfport, will host a free African American Genealogy workshop Saturday, February 25, 2012, 10 a.m.-4:15 p.m. in room 204 of the Gulf Park campus library in Long Beach.

The workshop will be taught by Ann Anderson and Joyce Griffith of the Ocean Springs Genealogical Society. The morning session will provide instruction on how to conduct basic genealogical research. The afternoon will focus on additional information including specific research tools related to free people of color and slave ancestors genealogy.

All are welcome to attend who are interested in learning about how to conduct family history.
