Each month, University Libraries highlights a resource from its collections. This month we are featuring Zotero.

Zotero is a free, open-source citation management program that can capture full reference information for items found in databases, Google Scholar, online library catalogs, and other websites. The program saves this information as well as the full-text of the resource (when available) in a user’s personal library.

Zotero references can easily be organized into folders and sub-folders, and users can add notes, tags, and attachments to any saved references. With Zotero’s plugin for Microsoft Word, users can also create bibliographies and in-text citations in a variety of citation styles including APA, MLA, and Chicago/Turabian.

Visit the Libraries’ website to connect to this resource online or go directly to Zotero.
