University Libraries, the Library and Information Science Student Association, and the Southern Miss Food Research Group are hosting an Edible Book Festival in the Cook Library Learning Commons Gallery on April 13, 2015, at 10 a.m.

Since its inception in 1999, the International Edible Book Festival is held annually on or around April 1st - the birthday of Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755 - 1826), the French author of a witty book on food entitled Physiologie du goût. Dozens of libraries and cultural organizations around the world have held their own festivals to celebrate his work.

Come by the Cook Library Learning Commons Gallery to check out the over 30 submissions from faculty, staff, and students across campus. Light refreshments will be served. More information about the festival and examples of edible books can be found at http://libguides.lib.usm.edu/ediblebookfest.
