Checking Out and Returning Materials
See entire Circulation Policy at:

Checking Out Materials:
- A current USM identification card is required to check out all materials. If the borrower does not have her/his card, we will hold the materials for the current day.
- Materials in the CMC may be checked out for 2 weeks. Items may be renewed two ways.
- To renew them in the CMC, both the item and borrower ID card must be presented in person at the desk. You may renew them in the CMC as often as you want unless another patron has put a hold on the item(s).
- You may get a PIN Code at the Circulation Desk to enable you to renew your items online. You may renew online only 2 times.
- Reference materials consist of a small collection of computer programs and may be checked out for a three hour period to be used on the CMC computers.
- The computer programs in the CMC stacks may be checked out for 2 weeks.
- Reserve materials such as juvenile magazines (i.e. National Geographic and ZOO BOOKS) may be checked out for 3 days.
Returning Materials
- Materials checked out from the CMC may be returned to the CMC, or to the Cook Library Circulation Desk after CMC hours. It is the responsibility of the borrower to return materials on or before the due date. The stamping of the due date on each item at the time of checkout constitutes formal notification of due date. Notice of overdue materials is provided only as a courtesy.
- It is the responsibility of the borrower to maintain current name, addresses, and telephone number with University Libraries.
