Advisement Center Opens in its New Location

The University Advisement Center recently relocated to its newly renovated, permanent location in Cook Library 203, located on the second floor, next door to the Libraries’ administrative office.

While the Advisement Center is here to answer questions of all kinds, we are currently only acting as advisors for freshmen in the following fields: Exploratory Studies; Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering; Geology; Geography; Chemistry and Biochemistry; Music; Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Security; Communication; Nursing and Health Sciences; and Biological Sciences, as well as all students in pre-professional fields. Sophomores; juniors; seniors; and freshmen majoring in a field not listed above should seek advisement from their faculty mentor or school advisor (listed on the Student Center page in SOAR).

The Advisement Center welcomes all Southern Miss students to connect with one of our advisors for general questions and guidance with things such as SOAR navigation, student success resources, and major exploration.
