Problems getting to online resources and services from off-campus? Please review the following checklist before contacting University Libraries.
Are you entering your USM ID with the w?
Your USM ID is the same user name and password combination you use to login to SOAR, Webmail, and WebCT. It should be entered as the letter w plus a 6-digit number. Do NOT use your social security number!
CORRECT: w123456
INCORRECT: 1234546, 0000123456, 123456w, and 123456000
Does the system recognize your USM ID, i.e., user name and password?
Off-campus access to University Libraries uses the same login as SOAR, Webmail, and WebCT. If there is a problem with your USM user name and password, contact iTech for assistance.
Are you receiving some type of technical error message?
If you see an unusual message AFTER logging in to the system, or entering your USM ID number and password, then please contact the library using the Remote Access Troubleshooting form.
An unsusual technical message might include a plain white screen where the name 'EZPROXY' is mentioned, a message about cookies, or a message about contacting your network or system administrator. If the system does not recognize your ID, it is NOT a technical problem and you should contact iTech.
Are cookies enabled in your browser?
Your Internet browser must accept cookies to access University Libraries from off-campus.
Are you trying to access Eagle Express or Infotrieve?
Eagle Express services and Infotrieve are part of Document Delivery Services and must be accessed through the ILLiad system. Please login to the ILLiad system for all Eagle Express services. Infotrieve has been integrated into the document delivery workflow as a
Document Delivery-mediated component.
Are you trying to access electronic reserves, renew loans online, or see what you have checked out?
These services are available through the Anna library catalog.
To view or print electronic reserves, begin by clicking the Reserves link in Anna.
To renew loans or see a list of items you have checked out, click the My Anna Account link in the upper right corner of the Anna window. You will be asked to enter your USM Libraries ID and PIN.
The USM Libraries ID is a 10-digit version of your USM ID number. Replace the w with four zeros. For example, if your USM ID is w123456, your USM Libraries ID is 0000123456.
To obtain a USM Libraries PIN, either fill out the PIN request form or bring your USM ID card to the Cook Library or the Gulf Coast Library circulation desk.
